About the RP2040 OOK48 LCD PCB

RP2040 OOK48 LCD is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by g4eml, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 96.8 × 56.4 mm, with 22 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the LTC4054ES5-4.2. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 5 capacitors, 5 resistors, 2 transistors, 2 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the displays & leds and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Experimental Synchronous On Off Keying Encoder and Decoder with LCD Touch Display

This Project is an experimental test for a new Synchronous On Off Keying mode for use with weak signal microwave contacts. The protocol is based on an idea from Andy G4JNT with input from several other UK Microwave Group Members. It is described in the document https://github.com/g4eml/RP2040OOK48LCD/blob/main/Documents/OOK48%20Protocol.pdf.

- Uses On/Off keying which is easier to implement than Frequency Shift keying on the higher microwave bands.

RP2040 OOK48 LCD: common questions

What microcontroller does the RP2040 OOK48 LCD use?

The RP2040 OOK48 LCD is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the RP2040 OOK48 LCD PCB?

The RP2040 OOK48 LCD measures 96.8 × 56.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RP2040 OOK48 LCD?

22 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RP2040 OOK48 LCD design files?

From the g4eml/RP2040_OOK48_LCD repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RP2040 OOK48 LCD design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which g4eml chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the RP2040 OOK48 LCD without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
