About the Hackpad 2025 PCB

Hackpad 2025 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by gethin101, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 62.4 × 82.1 mm, with 11 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 9 switches, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds and keyboards designs in this gallery.

Gethin HackPad v1 macropad - 3x3 mechanical switches, 0.91” OLED display, powered by XIAO-RP2040

This repository contains all files for my AMD x HackClub Macropad project. The macropad is designed for computer shortcuts, python programming, and game controlling.

It features: - 3x3 mechanical keys - 0.91" OLED display - Powered by a Seeed XIAO RP2040 microcontroller

This is the overview of my hackpad assembled in Fusion 360 which shows how it should be all put together

Hackpad 2025: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hackpad 2025 use?

The Hackpad 2025 is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Hackpad 2025 PCB?

The Hackpad 2025 measures 62.4 × 82.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackpad 2025?

11 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackpad 2025 design files?

From the gethin101/hackpad_2025 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackpad 2025 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with gethin101. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hackpad 2025 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
