About the GoatpadV1 PCB

GoatpadV1 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by GoatTech-42, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 57.2 × 71.4 mm, with 9 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 7 switches, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

My Hack Club Blueprint Macropad Project

This is my macro pad designed for gaming and fun shortcuts. It has 7 keys and an oled screen. I plan to use this for lots more than intially coded, but I'm happy with what I have now.

GoatpadV1: common questions

What microcontroller does the GoatpadV1 use?

The GoatpadV1 is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the GoatpadV1 PCB?

The GoatpadV1 measures 57.2 × 71.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the GoatpadV1?

9 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the GoatpadV1 design files?

From the GoatTech-42/GoatpadV1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the GoatpadV1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which GoatTech-42 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the GoatpadV1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
