About the RotorRig-V1.0 PCB

RotorRig-V1.0 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by GrzegorzG7, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a board, with 16 components from 9 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_Nano_RP2040_Connect, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the INA226 and HX711. By type, the board carries 10 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 resistors, 1 module and 1 connector.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

DIY BLDC motor & prop test bench with thrust + power + RPM logging (CSV).

RotorRig is a compact DIY platform for repeatable testing of BLDC motors and propellers. It streams data over USB as CSV, so you can compare setups (motor/prop/ESC/voltage) with real numbers instead of “feels faster”.

What it does: - Thrust: load cell + HX711 - Electrical: voltage / current / power via INA226 + shunt - RPM: BDShot telemetry (when ESC/firmware supports it) - Logging: CSV over Serial (examples in logs/examples/)

RotorRig-V1.0: common questions

What microcontroller does the RotorRig-V1.0 use?

The RotorRig-V1.0 is built around the Arduino_Nano_RP2040_Connect, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How many components are on the RotorRig-V1.0?

16 components, from 9 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RotorRig-V1.0 design files?

From the GrzegorzG7/RotorRig-V1.0 repository on GitHub, which has the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RotorRig-V1.0 design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the RotorRig-V1.0 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
