About the Voltshift PCB
Voltshift is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by gulshanshah, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 170 × 100 mm, with 50 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATmega328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the PC817 and ULN2003A. By type, the board carries 21 resistors, 9 capacitors, 5 ICs, 3 diodes, 2 LEDs and 1 crystal.
It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.
From the project
An ATmega328P based automatic voltage stable line switcher: senses three incoming mains lines, picks the one holding steady near 240V, and drives a stepper controlled selector onto it, or to OFF when no line is safe.
In many villages and homes the supply arrives unbalanced — some lines sit weak, some sit high, and people walk over to the board and move the home supply to the line that behaves. VoltShift does that switching automatically: it watches three incoming lines, picks the one that is stable near 240 V, and drives a selector switch onto it with a stepper motor — or to OFF when no line is safe.

Voltshift: common questions
What microcontroller does the Voltshift use?
The Voltshift is built around the ATmega328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the Voltshift PCB?
The Voltshift measures 170 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Voltshift?
50 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Voltshift design files?
From the gulshanshah/voltshift repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Voltshift design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which gulshanshah chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Voltshift without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
