About the VIC Cart 1 PCB
VIC Cart 1 is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by hansliss, published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 126.5 × 74.8 mm, with 27 components from 15 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ATMEGA328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the HM628512BFP-5, M27C160, 74LS148, 74LS21 and 74LS32. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 9 ICs, 3 resistors, 2 connectors, 1 crystal and 1 diode.
From the project
A basic programmable RAM/ROM expansion for VIC-20
RAM is handled by an KM681000CLG-5L, 128kx8 static RAM ~RAM1,~RAM2,~RAM3 are NAND:ed together, so the 3k area is handled as a single block A0-A13 are provided by the cartridge port, while A14 and A15 are connected to ~BLK2 and ~BLK1, respectively. With 8k blocks (using 13 address lines)
NOTE: The RAM addressing is incorrect and needs to be fixed!

VIC Cart 1: common questions
What microcontroller does the VIC Cart 1 use?
The VIC Cart 1 is built around the ATMEGA328P-PU, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the VIC Cart 1 PCB?
The VIC Cart 1 measures 126.5 × 74.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the VIC Cart 1?
27 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the VIC Cart 1 design files?
From the hansliss/VIC_Cart_1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the VIC Cart 1 design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its AGPL-3.0 license, which hansliss chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the VIC Cart 1 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
