About the Commiepad-V2 PCB

Commiepad-V2 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Hasnat4763, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85.6 × 64.4 mm, with 28 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 17 diodes, 9 switches, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

A fully custom designed macro pad. It is a sequel to my 1st macropad design Commiepad. The 1st one was not working fully as I had made some mistakes in the PCB by not using a matrix and combining OLED SDA with neopixel data line. So I fixed that mistake in this one. It can be used for running macros which can help people like programmers and designers to run commands they need to run a lot just by clicking one key instead of multiple.

Commiepad-V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Commiepad-V2 use?

The Commiepad-V2 is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Commiepad-V2 PCB?

The Commiepad-V2 measures 85.6 × 64.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Commiepad-V2?

28 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Commiepad-V2 design files?

From the Hasnat4763/Commiepad-V2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Commiepad-V2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Hasnat4763 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Commiepad-V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
