About the Alinx carrier PCB

Alinx carrier is an open source PCB design by hdlguy, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 80 × 85 mm, with 9 components from 6 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the KSZ9031RNXCA and STUSB4500QTR. By type, the board carries 7 connectors and 2 ICs.

Miscellaneous KiCad work

This is a repo to contain some simple attempts to use Kicad 6 to design printed circuit boards.

I like to make it so that design files are usable by just cloning them from GitHub but that is not completely possible with KiCad because libraries are external to the design folders and KiCad relies on user level pathname to access libraries.

The official KiCad libraries are cloned from these url:

Alinx carrier: common questions

How big is the Alinx carrier PCB?

The Alinx carrier measures 80 × 85 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Alinx carrier?

9 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Alinx carrier design files?

From the hdlguy/kicad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Alinx carrier design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which hdlguy chose for the repository.
