Repository of the Prosper III Environment Monitor project ☀️🌱

This repository contains the source code accompanying my master's thesis "Entwicklung einer digitalen Lösung zur Unterstützung von Tactical Urbanism auf Prosper III" (Development of a Digital Solution to Support Tactical Urbanism on Prosper III) at Hochschule Ruhr West. It includes hardware designs and embedded software for LoRaWAN-based sensor nodes to collect microclimate and irrigation data, as well as a web application and infrastructure to manage sensor nodes and view data.

Sensor node: common questions

What microcontroller does the Sensor node use?

The Sensor node is built around the STM32L412KB, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Sensor node PCB?

The Sensor node measures 57 × 57 mm and is 1.6002 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sensor node?

49 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sensor node design files?

From the henriheimann/prosper3-monitor repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sensor node design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with henriheimann. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Sensor node without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
