About the Supercar larson scanner PCB
Supercar larson scanner is an open source PCB design by hkzlab, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 63.5 × 43.6 mm, with 41 components from 19 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the 74HC283, 74HC574, 74HC154, 74HC86 and NE555D. By type, the board carries 17 diodes, 10 capacitors, 6 ICs, 5 resistors, 1 battery holder and 1 switch.
From the project
A simple SMD Larson Scanner board made out of 74' logic
"Supercar" is the (stupid) italian name for the Knight Rider) TV series. In that series, the iconic car KITT sports a red light going back and forth under the hood. That effect is called "Larson scanner".
This board implements a "Larson scanner" with regulable speed using a 555 timer and a few 74' CMOS logic ICs (two latches, a full adder, a demux and a 4x 2-in xor gate). It's powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery.
