About the Handmade kit PCB

Handmade kit is an open source Raspberry Pi PCB design by homelith, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 69.4 × 54 mm, with 12 components from 4 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_Pico_with_DVI_sock, from the Raspberry Pi family. Other key parts include the OSL10564-IB. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 2 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Custom firmware to make some RP2040 board working as DVI display tester & identifier

Handmade kit: common questions

What microcontroller does the Handmade kit use?

The Handmade kit is built around the Raspberry_Pi_Pico_with_DVI_sock, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Handmade kit PCB?

The Handmade kit measures 69.4 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Handmade kit?

12 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Handmade kit design files?

From the homelith/pico-disp-ident repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Handmade kit design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which homelith chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Handmade kit without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
