About the Arcadepad PCB

Arcadepad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by hubersonmathurin, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66.7 × 92.9 mm, with 8 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 6 switches, 1 IC and 1 LED.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

My version of HackClub's HackPad

This design was inspired by HackClub's HackPad tutorial ## Cad Model: Fusion 360 This macropad consists of 2 printed pieces, the case, which holds the PCB, and the cover. The PCB screws into 4 mounting holes, which will be filled with M3 bolts and heatset inserts, located at the bottom of the cover, not visible in picture. The case is held together with 4 more heatset inserts and M3 boots. ## PCB: KiCad ## Bill Of Materials - Cherry MX Switches(6) - Blank DSA Keycaps(6) - Seeed XIAO RP2040(1) - EC11 Rotary Encoder(1) - SSD1306 OLED Display(1) - M3X13 Screws(8) - M3x5mmx4mm Heatset Inserts(8)…

Arcadepad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arcadepad use?

The Arcadepad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Arcadepad PCB?

The Arcadepad measures 66.7 × 92.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arcadepad?

8 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arcadepad design files?

From the hubersonmathurin/arcadepad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arcadepad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hubersonmathurin. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Arcadepad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
