About the Verbum horologium PCB

Verbum horologium is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by i-Saac-IV, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 21 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the SC0915, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the AP63205WU-7, 1602 and 3013. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 5 resistors, 3 modules, 3 diodes, 1 IC and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A digital clock that displays time in an analog fashion.

Please insure that: - The LED diffuser is cut out of white acrylic. - The clock face is cut out of a thin and opaque material. - The bottom and sides are cut out of an opaque material.

Doing so will ensure the clock performs at its best.

For programming of the Raspberry Pi Pico W via the Arduino IDE I've included the board library I used here: - Arduino Pico by Earle F. Philhower, III (v5.6.0)

Verbum horologium: common questions

What microcontroller does the Verbum horologium use?

The Verbum horologium is built around the SC0915, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Verbum horologium PCB?

The Verbum horologium measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Verbum horologium?

21 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Verbum horologium design files?

From the i-Saac-IV/verbum-horologium repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Verbum horologium design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which i-Saac-IV chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Verbum horologium without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
