About the Ehymnboard PCB
Ehymnboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by iBelieve, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 44 × 54 mm, with 4 components from 2 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 3 connectors and 1 IC.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
e-ink hymn board for churches
A digital hymn board using e-ink screens. Designed and built by Michael Spencer and Christopher Spencer. First used in the Divine Service on Easter Sunday, A+D 2025.
This was a really interesting opportunity to explore how we might leverage modern technology in an anti-technology, anti-screens way. Hymn boards are a beautiful contrast to the modern trend of putting big distracting glowing screens in the front of the sanctuary by directing the congregation to a hymnal, a physical book with a collection of beloved time-tested hymns, a book that belongs not just in the sanctuary but in the home…

Ehymnboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the Ehymnboard use?
The Ehymnboard is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Ehymnboard PCB?
The Ehymnboard measures 44 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Ehymnboard?
4 components, from 2 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Ehymnboard design files?
From the iBelieve/ehymnboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Ehymnboard design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with iBelieve. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Ehymnboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
