About the Kicad ai checker PCB

Kicad ai checker is an open source STM32 PCB design by ilutchenko, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 56 mm, with 73 components from 36 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F405RGT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MAX3232EIPWR, TPS54531DDAR and LD1117S33TR. By type, the board carries 26 capacitors, 16 resistors, 12 diodes, 7 connectors, 4 ICs and 3 switches.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Kicad schematic files checker with LLMs

Current code implements two foundational modules: - project loader: discovers root schematic and resolves hierarchical sheets. - schematic parser: parses .kicadsch S-expressions into an AST. - netlist module: exports/parses KiCad netlist (kicadsexpr) from the root schematic. - electrical builder`: converts AST into compact LLM-ready electrical model (components/pins/nets).

Kicad ai checker: common questions

What microcontroller does the Kicad ai checker use?

The Kicad ai checker is built around the STM32F405RGT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Kicad ai checker PCB?

The Kicad ai checker measures 65 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Kicad ai checker?

73 components, from 36 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Kicad ai checker design files?

From the ilutchenko/kicad-ai-checker repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Kicad ai checker design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ilutchenko. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Kicad ai checker without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
