About the Carrier board

Carrier board is an open source PCB design by JamesTwallin, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48.6 × 70.9 mm, with 12 components from 10 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 8 connectors and 4 resistors.

It belongs with the sensors, dev boards & breakouts and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

The firmware works: it reads both gas channels, the OLED, the GNSS and the BME280, runs a rolling-percentile baseline and a HIGH/MED/LOW classifier, drives the onboard RGB status LED, and logs one geotagged row per sample to microSD (and serial). The BOOT button re-zeros the baseline. NVS storage and a dedicated mark button were never done. The…

Carrier board: common questions

How big is the Carrier board?

The Carrier board measures 48.6 × 70.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Carrier board?

12 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Carrier board design files?

From the JamesTwallin/gas_sensor repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Carrier board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which JamesTwallin chose for the repository.
