About the Business card PCB

Business card is an open source STM32 PCB design by jaxonteague, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 50 × 82 mm, with 280 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32C031G6UX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TPS61023DRLR, TLV71333PDBV and 74AHCT1G125. By type, the board carries 138 capacitors, 128 diodes, 5 resistors, 4 ICs, 2 switches and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Floppy bird business card project

I wanted my business card to do more than sit in someone's wallet, so I built one with a custom PCB, 128 RGB LEDs, and a playable game called Floppy Bird. It brings together PCB design, embedded C, real-time game logic, all displayed on a 16x8 custom led mattrix display.

Floppy Bird is controlled with a single physical button. Pressing it makes the bird flap while two-pixel-wide pipes move across the display. Passing a pipe earns a point, and the game gradually speeds up across ten difficulty levels.

Business card: common questions

What microcontroller does the Business card use?

The Business card is built around the STM32C031G6UX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Business card PCB?

The Business card measures 50 × 82 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Business card?

280 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Business card design files?

From the jaxonteague/business-card repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Business card design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jaxonteague. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Business card without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
