About the ReBridgette PCB

ReBridgette is an open source FPGA PCB design by jbilander, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 3-layer board measuring 23.3 × 16.8 mm, with 23 components from 13 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ICE40HX1K-CB132, from the FPGA family. Other key parts include the MX25V1635FZUI, TLV74312PDBV, TLV75533PDBVR and ReBridgette_QFN. By type, the board carries 15 capacitors, 5 ICs, 2 resistors and 1 diode.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

A re-implementation of the Amiga Bridgette chip.

Replacement for Commodore A4000 Bridgette chip using Lattice ICE40 FPGA.

This project implements the Amiga Bridgette chip functionality using a Lattice ICE40HX1K FPGA in a CB132 (132-ball caBGA) package. The Bridgette chip manages bus bridging and buffering between the Amiga's processor and chip buses. ***

ReBridgette: common questions

What microcontroller does the ReBridgette use?

The ReBridgette is built around the ICE40HX1K-CB132, from the FPGA family.

How big is the ReBridgette PCB?

The ReBridgette measures 23.3 × 16.8 mm, has 3 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ReBridgette?

23 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ReBridgette design files?

From the jbilander/ReBridgette repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ReBridgette design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which jbilander chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ReBridgette without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug FPGA firmware against it before you order a PCB.
