This is my first ever HackPad for "Highway", a project by Hack Club!

This project is a custom-built 4x4 mechanical keypad featuring MX switches, per-key RGB lighting with SK6812-E Mini LEDs, and powered by a Seeed XIAO RP2040 running KMK firmware. It's designed to be compact, programmable, and visually striking—perfect for learning firmware development and hardware design.

Jolomolokolos-HackPad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Jolomolokolos-HackPad use?

The Jolomolokolos-HackPad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Jolomolokolos-HackPad PCB?

The Jolomolokolos-HackPad measures 83.5 × 83.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Jolomolokolos-HackPad?

49 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Jolomolokolos-HackPad design files?

From the Jolomolokolo/Jolomolokolos-HackPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Jolomolokolos-HackPad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Jolomolokolo. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Jolomolokolos-HackPad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
