About the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard PCB

The-Ergonomic-Keyboard is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by juanfierro4892, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 253 × 106 mm, with 90 components from 5 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-NRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family. By type, the board carries 42 switches, 42 diodes, 4 resistors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A split keyboard that allows you to work more comfortably and is ergonomic, so you can maintain good posture

An split keyboard that helps you to maintain a good position while you work, play or whatever you do in a computer.

I designed this because I was tired of the back pains so I decided to design and build a keyboard that helps me to maintain a good postion.

It is designed in Fusion 360 made to fit and protect the PCB and all of the components that conforms it The PCB here is how it end look like designed in KiCad with a lot of patience

The-Ergonomic-Keyboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard use?

The The-Ergonomic-Keyboard is built around the XIAO-NRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard PCB?

The The-Ergonomic-Keyboard measures 253 × 106 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard?

90 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard design files?

From the juanfierro4892/The-Ergonomic-Keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with juanfierro4892. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the The-Ergonomic-Keyboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
