About the Junyapad PCB

Junyapad is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by junyali, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 92.9 × 52.4 mm, with 37 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 16 diodes, 10 capacitors, 7 switches, 2 resistors, 1 IC and 1 connector.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom 6-key macropad featuring per-key RGB LEDs (with some extras :p) a 128x32 0.91" OLD screen, a rotary encoder switch and a cool semi-open case design!

PCB designed in KiCAD, case built in OnShape, and firmware built using QMK. Pretty proud of this as it's fully independent (no assistance from friends needed or Q's asked :DD)

Prices are a bit wonky since most products must be bought in bulk - this is an optimistic BOM

Junyapad: common questions

What microcontroller does the Junyapad use?

The Junyapad is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Junyapad PCB?

The Junyapad measures 92.9 × 52.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Junyapad?

37 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Junyapad design files?

From the junyali/Junyapad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Junyapad design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which junyali chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Junyapad without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
