About the Pando - Left PCB

Pando - Left is an open source STM32 PCB design by jyap808, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 144.1 × 121.5 mm, with 88 components from 13 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G0B1KBT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the PRTR5V0U2X and XC6206PxxxMR-Regulator_Linear. By type, the board carries 29 diodes, 8 resistors, 7 capacitors, 4 ICs, 2 connectors and 2 fuses.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

58 key split keyboard. Integrated STM32G0B1KBT6, USB-C interconnect, PCA9555 IO Expander design

Pando is a wired 58-key column-staggered split keyboard. It uses an integrated MCU design on the STM32 platform (STM32G0B1) with an IO expander (PCA9555) on the secondary half, connected over USB-C.

- STM32G0B1KBT6 MCU (64 MHz Cortex-M0+, 144 KB SRAM) - PCA9555 IO expander on the secondary half - USB-C split communication with ESD protection on all ports - Hotswap switch sockets - Single-sided SMD components for hotplate soldering - Vial firmware for keymap configuration - Same key layout as the Pando58, but as an assembled PCB instead of a DIY kit

Pando - Left: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pando - Left use?

The Pando - Left is built around the STM32G0B1KBT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Pando - Left PCB?

The Pando - Left measures 144.1 × 121.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pando - Left?

88 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pando - Left design files?

From the jyap808/pando repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pando - Left design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which jyap808 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pando - Left without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
