About the Doge32 PCB

Doge32 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by krwc, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 25.2 × 59.4 mm, with 46 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the XC6220B331MR and CP2102N-A01-GQFN24. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 8 capacitors, 7 diodes, 5 transistors, 3 ICs and 3 switches.

Yet another ESP32 PCB

The board is 25mm x 59mm, which means it can fit into the standard breadboard nicely, and each pin will be accessible.

The board can be powered by 3.7V li-po battery.

In deep sleep mode, the board consumes only about 13µA. This is a pretty good result and will let the device work for a long period of time on a battery.

You may power the device from battery as well as from the USB at the same time - useful feature if you're making some quick fixes to the "already deployed" device.

Doge32: common questions

What microcontroller does the Doge32 use?

The Doge32 is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Doge32 PCB?

The Doge32 measures 25.2 × 59.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Doge32?

46 components, from 26 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Doge32 design files?

From the krwc/doge32 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Doge32 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with krwc. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Doge32 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
