About the WASD-PAD PCB
WASD-PAD is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by KushagraJaju, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54.8 × 0 mm, with 8 components from 3 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 4 switches, 3 diodes and 1 IC.
It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
A 4‑key WASD macropad built around the Seeed XIAO RP2040, using KMK firmware in CircuitPython. The custom PCB includes four MX‑style switches, four SK6812‑MINI addressable RGB LEDs, and a 3D‑printed case designed for the Hack Club Hackpad project.
A small 4‑key macropad based on the Seeed XIAO RP2040, customized to act as WASD keys for gaming and shortcuts. The board uses MX‑style switches, SK6812‑MINI addressable RGB LEDs, and a 3D‑printed case inspired by the Hack Club Hackpad project.
- 4 mechanical MX‑style switches laid out as WASD - Seeed XIAO RP2040 as the main controller - KMK firmware running on CircuitPython - 4 SK6812‑MINI RGB LEDs for per‑key lighting - Custom PCB designed in KiCad - 3D‑printed top and bottom case

WASD-PAD: common questions
What microcontroller does the WASD-PAD use?
The WASD-PAD is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the WASD-PAD PCB?
The WASD-PAD measures 54.8 × 0 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the WASD-PAD?
8 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the WASD-PAD design files?
From the KushagraJaju/WASD-PAD repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the WASD-PAD design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with KushagraJaju. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the WASD-PAD without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
