About the Main PCB

Main is an open source NXP PCB design by Kushal-Sachdeva78, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 148.5 × 70 mm, with 19 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the TEENSY 4.1, from the NXP family. By type, the board carries 6 connectors, 4 modules, 2 capacitors, 1 IC and 1 switch.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Autonomous RoboCupJunior Soccer (IR League) robots by Team VVS Ballers: 9th place at RoboCup 2026 in Incheon. Teensy 4.1 multi-board electronics, IR/line/ultrasonic sensing, OpenMV vision, 48 V solenoid kicker. Firmware, KiCad PCBs, Fusion 360 CAD.

Superseded designs, kept for history and reference. Nothing here is the current build — see the top-level Firmware/, PCB/, and CAD/ for what the robot actually runs and uses today.

Main: common questions

What microcontroller does the Main use?

The Main is built around the TEENSY 4.1, from the NXP family.

How big is the Main PCB?

The Main measures 148.5 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Main?

19 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Main design files?

From the Kushal-Sachdeva78/VVS-Ballers-RoboCup repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Main design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Kushal-Sachdeva78 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Main without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
