About the Nanovolt divider PCB

Nanovolt divider is an open source ESP32 PCB design by kuvychko, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 69.1 mm, with 64 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32_DISP_P1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MCP23017-E/SO and TMP275AIDR. By type, the board carries 27 resistors, 10 transistors, 10 diodes, 6 connectors, 5 relays and 4 capacitors.

It belongs with the test & measurement designs in this gallery.

From the project

Programmable 1e-5/1e-6/1e-7 precision attenuator for nanovolt metrology: KiCad, ESP32 firmware, calibration method and results

A programmable precision attenuator for nanovolt-to-microvolt experiments: it divides an ordinary bench power supply down by passive resistive division, read by an external precision DMM. Three ratios (1e-5, 1e-6, 1e-7), relay-controlled polarity reversal for ABBA modulation, and a source-disconnected baseline that opens the source without touching the measurement path. Calibration is in progress (see Status).

Nanovolt divider: common questions

What microcontroller does the Nanovolt divider use?

The Nanovolt divider is built around the ESP32_DISP_P1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Nanovolt divider PCB?

The Nanovolt divider measures 60 × 69.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Nanovolt divider?

64 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Nanovolt divider design files?

From the kuvychko/nanovolt-divider repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Nanovolt divider design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which kuvychko chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Nanovolt divider without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
