The source schematic and project settings were copied byte-for-byte. The packaged PCB differs only in four 3D model path strings, changed to ${KIPRJMOD}/3dmodels/... so those models travel with the project. No electrical connections, geometry, routing, or placement were changed. The original files remain untouched.

BinaryClock: common questions

What microcontroller does the BinaryClock use?

The BinaryClock is built around the ATtiny1616-M, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the BinaryClock PCB?

The BinaryClock measures 60 × 30 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the BinaryClock?

52 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the BinaryClock design files?

From the kwame-y/BinaryClock repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the BinaryClock design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with kwame-y. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the BinaryClock without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
