About the Tube detection PCB

Tube detection is an open source PCB design by kylenmorris, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 98.8 × 33 mm, with 12 components from 4 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the DM3CQF1003L01 and SN74HC165N. By type, the board carries 6 ICs, 5 resistors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the sensors and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom reaction chamber for automation of crop pathogens testing using a NAAT reaction, developed as a capstone project

Our capstone project was to design a self-contained device that would run Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAAT), a method of in-field crop disease testing that replaces slow lab-based testing. This project was introduced to us by PathoScan who supplied the reaction tubes and supplies.

This device has several features, including maintaining and monitoring of internal chamber temperature, light-emission monitoring, storage of test results, and input/output from the user.

Tube detection: common questions

How big is the Tube detection PCB?

The Tube detection measures 98.8 × 33 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tube detection?

12 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tube detection design files?

From the kylenmorris/reaction-chamber repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tube detection design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with kylenmorris. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
