About the Digisynth PCB
Digisynth is an open source PCB design by kzalesak, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 50 mm, with 44 components from 23 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the 40106. By type, the board carries 16 connectors, 10 resistors, 5 diodes, 5 capacitors, 2 switches and 2 test points.
It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.
From the project
A digital Lunetta synth based on the 40106 inverter.
A simple Lunetta-type synthesiser based on the 40106 integrated circuit, designed to fit into a pocket, with many configurable options. Can be controlled by dials, light level and any resistive material. Contains a passive mixer and can utilise oscillator sync.
You are invited to reproduce the PCB's and experiment yourself.
Our pocket synth is based on the 40106 digital logic CMOS inverter, and has been inspired by Elliot Williams' great digital synthesizer series on Hackaday. It has a nice detailed explanation of how the synth operates, as well as many expansion circuits, including multi…

Digisynth: common questions
How big is the Digisynth PCB?
The Digisynth measures 100 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Digisynth?
44 components, from 23 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Digisynth design files?
From the kzalesak/Digisynth repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Digisynth design in my own project?
