About the Socitrack PCB

Socitrack is an open source STM32 PCB design by lab11, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 31.8 × 27.5 mm, with 57 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F031G6U6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LXDC2HL, DW1000, SKY13317, ProtoPoint_Module and AO6604. By type, the board carries 40 capacitors, 7 ICs, 7 resistors, 2 crystals and 1 transformer.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, rf & radio and wearables designs in this gallery.

TotTag Gen 2 (2023-present) ---------------------------

- revi` is a fairly complete overhaul of the TotTag platform, shedding many of the legacy IC selections from the long design history of this project (some traced back to the original 2015 PolyPoint board).

- The most significant changes are moving from a dual-MCU design to a single MCU, based around the Ambiq Apollo4 family of chips, and upgrading to the newer generation UWB transciever, ~~Decawave~~ Qorvo's DW3000 family.

Socitrack: common questions

What microcontroller does the Socitrack use?

The Socitrack is built around the STM32F031G6U6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Socitrack PCB?

The Socitrack measures 31.8 × 27.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Socitrack?

57 components, from 27 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Socitrack design files?

From the lab11/socitrack repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Socitrack design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which lab11 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Socitrack without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
