About the PixFrog Shield

PixFrog Shield is an open source PCB design by Lefix2, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 88.5 × 65 mm, with 65 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74HCT245. By type, the board carries 32 resistors, 16 diodes, 10 connectors, 3 capacitors, 2 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Professional Art-Net pixel controller and dmx node — eight parallel channels, configured locally

The board half of pixfrograck; the meca* half is the 1U enclosure it stacks into.

KiCad 10 project for the signal-adaptation shield that plugs onto the ESP32-P4 Module DEV-KIT's 2×20 header (J1). It closes the gap identified in the TODO ("output buffers"): the devkit drives the LED bus straight from 3.3 V GPIOs, which is marginal for 12 V strips (WS2815) over real cable runs and leaves the SoC exposed to field wiring.
