About the Pass2 PCB
Pass2 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by lnvke, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21 × 51 mm, with 35 components from 24 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the NCP1117-3.3_SOT223, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the TVS1400DRV, MX25L12872FM2I-10G and RP2040. By type, the board carries 18 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 ICs, 4 connectors, 1 crystal and 1 switch.
It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.
From the project
Cheaper Than aRduino is a custom devboard meant to be a cost-effective alternative to the Arduino Nano series of devboard hobbyist microcontrollers. It is based of the same RP2040 microcontroller and provides the similar if not the same performance compared to its far more costly equivalents.

Pass2: common questions
What microcontroller does the Pass2 use?
The Pass2 is built around the NCP1117-3.3_SOT223, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Pass2 PCB?
The Pass2 measures 21 × 51 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Pass2?
35 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Pass2 design files?
From the lnvke/DH-CTR-0 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Pass2 design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which lnvke chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Pass2 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
