About the EspStepper PCB
EspStepper is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by lsr1, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 52 × 36 mm, with 14 components from 10 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the Pololu_Breakout_A4988. By type, the board carries 7 connectors, 1 module and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the iot & wireless and robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

* You can't solder the MP1584 directly on the board even if you don't care about the mouting-hole: The holes for the pins are too small (only the female pin-headers fit, but no the male pinheaders directly). This might be changed on a v2 of the board.
* Todo for v2: Mark the GND pin for the A4988 with silkscreen on the PCB to make it easier to plug in.

EspStepper: common questions
What microcontroller does the EspStepper use?
The EspStepper is built around the WeMos_D1_mini, from the ESP8266 family.
How big is the EspStepper PCB?
The EspStepper measures 52 × 36 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the EspStepper?
14 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the EspStepper design files?
From the lsr1/EspStepper repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the EspStepper design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lsr1. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the EspStepper without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
