About the 40-ish ulp PCB
40-ish ulp is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by maker-lukas, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 103.2 × 82.2 mm, with 41 components from 7 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-NRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family. By type, the board carries 20 switches, 19 diodes, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the iot & wireless and keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
A split wireless 36 key keyboard powered by the Seeed XIAO Nrf52840 with cherry ULP switches.
40%ish ulp is a split, ultra low profile keyboard with a 36 key layout, which is great when you are traveling or like a clean and slim build on your desk. It's only 8.25mm thick, with a huge battery so you won't have to charge it every day. It even has a status LED to tell you when the battery is low. Being wireless, it can connect to any device. Using ZMK firmware, you can customize your layout on the fly inside your browser, and its really power efficient!

40-ish ulp: common questions
What microcontroller does the 40-ish ulp use?
The 40-ish ulp is built around the XIAO-NRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family.
How big is the 40-ish ulp PCB?
The 40-ish ulp measures 103.2 × 82.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the 40-ish ulp?
41 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the 40-ish ulp design files?
From the maker-lukas/40-ish-ulp repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the 40-ish ulp design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which maker-lukas chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the 40-ish ulp without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
