About the TEC-1G PCB

TEC-1G is an open source PCB design by MarkJelic, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 63.5 × 85.6 mm, with 31 components from 20 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74LS138, 74HCT32, TMS9918A, 74HCT04 and 74HCT574. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 8 ICs, 5 connectors, 3 resistors, 1 transistor and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

The new incarnation of the 40 year old Z80 trainer computer - Now with Fulisik LEDs!

The design is NOT quite finished. I have 3 traces to complete. When this is done, will release Gerbers so people can print their own boards.

Note that I (think) I have hardwired the Port Address to be something in the range that the Colecovision and SG-1000 which gives us a HUGE library of games to port if anyone cares to.

NONE of this has been tested! You are on your own, but of course the community would love to see it come to life and be able to run some ported games! Keep us in the loop. Happy to work together.

TEC-1G: common questions

How big is the TEC-1G PCB?

The TEC-1G measures 63.5 × 85.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TEC-1G?

31 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TEC-1G design files?

From the MarkJelic/TEC-1G repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TEC-1G design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which MarkJelic chose for the repository.
