About the Quad dac PCB
Quad dac is an open source PCB design by MarkWestbroek, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 90 × 90 mm, with 14 components from 10 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the AD5754R. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 5 resistors, 2 connectors and 1 IC.
It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.
From the project
A central brain running on teensy or a lighter MCU to process any control signals (MIDI, CV, our own) into the same but adding logic, ADSRs, DCOs, CV matrices etc. to it
Minimal Eurorack quad-DAC breakout board around the Analog Devices AD5754R. Designed for the MusicBrain modular synthesizer system.
- AD5754R — Quad 16-bit DAC with internal 2.5V reference - Bipolar ±5V output (hardware-selectable: ±5V, ±10V, 0–10V) - SPI interface (SCLK, MOSI, MISO, CS) — direct to Teensy 4.1 or any SPI master - Eurorack power — +12V / -12V analog rails, +3.3V digital - 4x CV outputs with 47Ω short-circuit protection resistors - LDAC tied to GND — outputs update immediately on CS rising edge - CLR pulled to +3.3V via 10kΩ — safe state, no accidental output clearing

Quad dac: common questions
How big is the Quad dac PCB?
The Quad dac measures 90 × 90 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Quad dac?
14 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Quad dac design files?
From the MarkWestbroek/MusicBrain repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Quad dac design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which MarkWestbroek chose for the repository.
