About the Pico vga PCB
Pico vga is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by mdrobot7, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 60.4 × 70.4 mm, with 46 components from 36 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 22 resistors, 8 diodes, 7 connectors, 6 capacitors, 1 IC and 1 transistor.
From the project
A Raspberry Pi Pico - based graphics adapter and game engine.
Since VGA is a true analog signal, it is not enough to cut up a sacrificial cable and tie it onto the Pico's pins. Some extra hardware is required to make color work, which is why a breadboard is highly recommended.

Pico vga: common questions
What microcontroller does the Pico vga use?
The Pico vga is built around the Raspberry_Pi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the Pico vga PCB?
The Pico vga measures 60.4 × 70.4 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Pico vga?
46 components, from 36 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Pico vga design files?
From the mdrobot7/pico-vga repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Pico vga design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which mdrobot7 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Pico vga without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
