About the Chameleon mesh node PCB
Chameleon mesh node is an open source ESP32 PCB design by MetaStrawman, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 60 × 34 mm, with 5 components from 5 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C5-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the Wio-WM1110 and BME280. By type, the board carries 3 ICs, 1 connector and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the rf & radio, sensors and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Chameleon mesh node: common questions
What microcontroller does the Chameleon mesh node use?
The Chameleon mesh node is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C5-SMD, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Chameleon mesh node PCB?
The Chameleon mesh node measures 60 × 34 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Chameleon mesh node?
5 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Chameleon mesh node design files?
From the MetaStrawman/chameleon-mesh-node repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Chameleon mesh node design in my own project?
It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
Can I test firmware for the Chameleon mesh node without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
