About the Granola Summit PCB

Granola Summit is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by michaelswitzer, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 211 × 105 mm, with 52 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the C5250992, C97521 and C5250994. By type, the board carries 19 switches, 17 capacitors, 6 resistors, 4 ICs, 3 connectors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

The .step file for the case is optimized for FDM 3D printers. I recommend PLA with at least 15% infill but you can use any material you wish. The case has designed break-away supports that you will remove after printing. It should already be aligned in the correct orientation.

Granola Summit: common questions

What microcontroller does the Granola Summit use?

The Granola Summit is built around the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Granola Summit PCB?

The Granola Summit measures 211 × 105 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Granola Summit?

52 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Granola Summit design files?

From the michaelswitzer/granola-summit repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Granola Summit design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Granola Summit without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
