About the USB232R02 PCB

USB232R02 is an open source PCB design by mlab-modules, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 40.1 × 30 mm, with 21 components from 17 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6 and FT231XQ. By type, the board carries 5 connectors, 5 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 diodes, 2 ICs and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

Universal USB-UART converter ideal for prototyping high-quality devices. USB Full Speed/Full Handshake support.

The module provides the ability to power your devices via 5V from USB and 3.3V from the integrated power source simultaneously. The protection of the host device for overcurrent is realized by reversible fuse (750mA). 5V header is powerd from USB bus (trought fuse). The 3.3V power source is supplied from an LDO integrated in the FTDI converter. The 3.3V current limit is 50mA.
