About the Key bowwrd PCB

Key bowwrd is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Mona-zza, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 358.1 × 123.2 mm, with 171 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 85 diodes, 13 fuses, 2 ICs, 2 modules, 2 crystals and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

My this keyboard is equiped with 89 keys, 1 rotary encoder switch and 0.91" OLED display. In this I've used Raspberry Pi Pico 2W. I used this microcontroller because I guess it will be good because it has just enough GPIO pins for the key matrix + OLED and rotary encoder, and the 2W version of the Pico has wireless through the help of bluetooth if I decide to add that functionality in the future. Key bowwrd: common questions

What microcontroller does the Key bowwrd use?

The Key bowwrd is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Key bowwrd PCB?

The Key bowwrd measures 358.1 × 123.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Key bowwrd?

171 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Key bowwrd design files?

From the Mona-zza/key-bowwrd repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Key bowwrd design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Mona-zza. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Key bowwrd without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
