About the Klask PCB

Klask is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by motty-mio2, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 69.1 × 53.8 mm, with 18 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Arduino_UNO_R3, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the Breakout_TMC2209 and Pololu_Breakout_DRV8825. By type, the board carries 5 connectors, 4 capacitors, 3 modules, 3 resistors, 2 switches and 1 diode.

It belongs with the robotics & motion, power & battery and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

This repository contains the KiCad project files for Klask PCB, a custom Arduino Uno R3 shield designed to control stepper motors and limit switches for manipulating a Klask board game.

Klask PCB is a hardware interface designed to automate or robotize the board game "Klask". It uses stepper motors to move the game magnets under the board.

The shield drives two stepper motors (X and Y axes) using Pololu-style DRV8825 stepper driver modules and processes signals from homing limit switches to align the axes. Additionally, it integrates a power sense circuit to detect external 12V supply and…

Klask: common questions

What microcontroller does the Klask use?

The Klask is built around the Arduino_UNO_R3, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Klask PCB?

The Klask measures 69.1 × 53.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Klask?

18 components, from 11 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Klask design files?

From the motty-mio2/Klask_PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Klask design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which motty-mio2 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Klask without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
