From the project

An intelligent dew prevention system for astronomical telescopes and optical equipment, featuring automatic humidity monitoring and adaptive heating control.

An intelligent dew prevention system for astronomical telescopes and optical equipment, featuring automatic humidity monitoring and adaptive heating control.

The Q150 Dew Controller uses precise temperature and humidity sensing to calculate dew point and automatically control heater power to prevent condensation on telescope optics. The system features both WiFi web interface and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity for remote monitoring and configuration.

DewcontrollerQ150: common questions

What microcontroller does the DewcontrollerQ150 use?

The DewcontrollerQ150 is built around the XIAO-ESP32-S3-DIP, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the DewcontrollerQ150 PCB?

The DewcontrollerQ150 measures 60.9 × 49.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DewcontrollerQ150?

13 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DewcontrollerQ150 design files?

From the mpinnuck/dewcontrollerQ150 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DewcontrollerQ150 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mpinnuck. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DewcontrollerQ150 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
