Motion-controlled LED strip animation (water flow) using a Raspberry Pi Pico and MPU-6050 sensor. The project features dual-core C++ programming and ASCII visualization for hardware-independent testing.

An interactive dual-core LED "water flow" and tilt simulation for the Raspberry Pi Pico / Pico 2 using a WS2812B LED strip and an MPU-6050 IMU (or a built‑in software tilt simulator when the sensor is absent). The project demonstrates:

- Dual-core coordination on RP2040 (Core 0: sensor / simulation; Core 1: LED rendering + serial output) - Smooth physics-like motion (velocity, damping, bounce) converted to a glowing LED blob that shifts and reflects within the strip - ASCII real-time visualization in the Serial Monitor for debugging without LEDs - Seamless fallback to simulated tilt if the…

Pi pico mpu6050-light: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pi pico mpu6050-light use?

The Pi pico mpu6050-light is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pi pico mpu6050-light PCB?

The Pi pico mpu6050-light measures 40 × 75 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pi pico mpu6050-light?

14 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pi pico mpu6050-light design files?

From the Muditha-Kumara/pi-pico-mpu6050-light repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pi pico mpu6050-light design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Muditha-Kumara chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pi pico mpu6050-light without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
