About the Blendboard PCB

Blendboard is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Muhammad-Yusr, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 42.4 × 84 mm, with 9 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 6 switches, 2 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom 6-switch macropad designed to speed up Blender workflow, built with Seeed XIAO RP2040 and KMK firmware.

A custom 6-switch macropad designed to speed up Blender workflow, built with Seeed XIAO RP2040 and KMK firmware.

The firmware uses KMK and a custom main.py:

- Keys mapped for Blender workflow: - Undo → Ctrl+Z - Redo → Ctrl+Y - Duplicate → Shift+D - Save → Ctrl+S - X-Ray → Alt+Z - Wireframe → Z → 4

- The PCB fits perfectly inside the 3D printed case. - All parts are approved for the project. - Only 6 switches used (<16 max allowed). - The CAD file (final.step) shows the full assembly including the PCB and case.

Blendboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Blendboard use?

The Blendboard is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Blendboard PCB?

The Blendboard measures 42.4 × 84 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Blendboard?

9 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Blendboard design files?

From the Muhammad-Yusr/Blendboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Blendboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Muhammad-Yusr. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Blendboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
