About the FancyDMM PCB

FancyDMM is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by NikhilMotagi, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30 × 30 mm, with 11 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny85-20S, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the INA226, AMS1117-3.3 and SSD1306_OLEDModule. By type, the board carries 4 ICs, 3 resistors, 2 connectors, 1 switch and 1 capacitor.

It belongs with the displays & leds and test & measurement designs in this gallery.

From the project

ATTiny 85 based Current & Voltage measurement tool

Inspired by the Atmega328P-based voltage and current measuring device utilizing the INA266 current sensor, I aim to create a more compact and cost-effective version using the versatile ATTiny microcontroller. This project will involve designing a circuit to measure both voltage and current, processing the data using the ATTiny, and displaying the results on an appropriate display. To keep the code size low, I used Bare Metal coding. ____ ## Photo Gallery

FancyDMM: common questions

What microcontroller does the FancyDMM use?

The FancyDMM is built around the ATtiny85-20S, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the FancyDMM PCB?

The FancyDMM measures 30 × 30 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the FancyDMM?

11 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FancyDMM design files?

From the NikhilMotagi/FancyDMM repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FancyDMM design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with NikhilMotagi. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the FancyDMM without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
