About the RPROM PCB
RPROM is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by niklasekstrom, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 18 × 51 mm, with 41 components from 19 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the RP2350_80QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q32RVXHJQ and TLV1117-33. By type, the board carries 21 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 2 switches and 2 diodes.
It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.
From the project
ROM emulator based on the RP2350B microcontroller
RPROM is a ROM emulator for 16 bit Amiga computers (A500, A600, A2000) based on the RP2350B microcontroller. RPROM was designed in collaboration by Niklas Ekström and Per Bengtsson.
The RPROM board has a 4 MB SPI flash memory. Each ROM image is 512 kB in size, and therefore the 4 MB is divided into eight slots of 512 kB each. The first slot is dedicated to store code and configuration data for the RP2350B. The seven remaining slots are used to store ROM images.

RPROM: common questions
What microcontroller does the RPROM use?
The RPROM is built around the RP2350_80QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.
How big is the RPROM PCB?
The RPROM measures 18 × 51 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the RPROM?
41 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the RPROM design files?
From the niklasekstrom/RPROM repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the RPROM design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with niklasekstrom. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the RPROM without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
