About the Ninjapad-V2 PCB

Ninjapad-V2 is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by Ninjadude01, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 63 × 64.1 mm, with 22 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-nRF52840-DIP, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the 0.91". By type, the board carries 7 switches, 6 diodes, 6 inductors, 2 ICs and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

A macropad

This is my second time creating a macropad; my first design was very basic and bland. I wanted to create something that was more advanced, had more features, and looked cooler, which is why I decided to have another go though NinjapadV2.

Ninjapad-V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ninjapad-V2 use?

The Ninjapad-V2 is built around the XIAO-nRF52840-DIP, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Ninjapad-V2 PCB?

The Ninjapad-V2 measures 63 × 64.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ninjapad-V2?

22 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ninjapad-V2 design files?

From the Ninjadude01/Ninjapad-V2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ninjapad-V2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Ninjadude01. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Ninjapad-V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
