1. Copy the .step/.wrl files to EPx/Libraries/3dmodels folder 2. In the footprint editor (press Ctrl+E on a footprint in the PCB editor), open footprint properties, navigate to the 3D Models tab, and select the 3D model file with the folder icon to the left of the Show checkbox. 3. The path should be replaced with ${NTURTKICADROOT}/EPx/Libraries/3dmodels/..., if not, then you will need to set up the path variable. 4. Adjust the position of the model. > [!NOTE] > For a part that a 3D model would be helpful, if it is a part that came with KiCad, then consider "Save as" in the footprint editor…

Dirverless car midle board: common questions
What microcontroller does the Dirverless car midle board use?
The Dirverless car midle board is built around the ESP32_DevKit_V1_DOIT, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Dirverless car midle board?
The Dirverless car midle board measures 115.8 × 48.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Dirverless car midle board?
14 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Dirverless car midle board design files?
From the NTURacingTeam/nturt_kicad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Dirverless car midle board design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with NTURacingTeam. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Dirverless car midle board without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
