About the Readout 30pin top PCB

Readout 30pin top is an open source STM32 PCB design by opentac, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 16 × 22.8 mm, with 24 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G431KBU6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LSM6DSV16BXTR and TLV75533PDBVR. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 4 connectors, 4 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 switch.

It belongs with the sensors and robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

OpenTac: open tools to design, fabricate, read and simulate flex-PCB tactile skins that sense normal and shear force, for any robot surface.

Reads one OpenTac sensor of up to 15 rows x 15 columns. It is two small boards stacked on 1.27 mm 7-pin header/socket pairs: the top board has the microcontroller, the bottom board has the analog front end and the sensor connector.

Readout 30pin top: common questions

What microcontroller does the Readout 30pin top use?

The Readout 30pin top is built around the STM32G431KBU6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Readout 30pin top PCB?

The Readout 30pin top measures 16 × 22.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Readout 30pin top?

24 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Readout 30pin top design files?

From the opentac/opentac.github.io repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Readout 30pin top design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which opentac chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Readout 30pin top without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
